The MQM-P delegation comprised the party’s deputy convener Anis Ahmed Kaimkhani, coordination committee member Furqan Ateeb, Sindh Assembly candidate Fayaz Kaimkhani and others.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Kamal said that a new culture of amity is emerging in Karachi. He advised political parties not to turn ideological differences into personal enmities. He added that parties contesting elections against each other were also engaged in talks, and all parties aimed to work for the betterment of the country.

He emphasized that the MQM-P-ST relations have existed before the elections and will continue afterward. He said that the party is presenting its manifesto and agenda to the people, intending to convey to Karachiites that their exploitation should cease. He claimed that the MQM-P played a small part in creating this environment. “Our good wishes are with the ST.”

Kamal opined that everyone is free to think, and the Pakistani nation is very conscious. He stressed that every party needs to demonstrate efficiency in governance.

Speaking of the last 15 years of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s rule in Sindh, Kamal said that the conditions from Kashmore to Karachi are evident to everyone. He commented that if the PPP’s performance had been good, parties like the MQM-P had disappeared.

He said that there is not a single place without issues in the city and the rest of the province. He lamented, “While the world progresses towards the moon, news about children dying every third day by falling into the gutter surfaces in the city.”

Expressing hope for the MQM-P to secure the public mandate in the February 8 elections, Kamal anticipated that people would stand with them, overlooking the flaws and weaknesses of the party. He claimed that the MQM-P had never sought help from the PPP; instead, the PPP had always approached them.
