Nawaz calls Imran ‘failed prime minister’
Nawaz Sharif said he would serve Nankana if he comes to power again
NANKANA SAHIB: Former prime minister and Quaid of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) Mian Nawaz Sharif has said he is not an imported but a local prime minister, while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan was a failed prime minister.
Addressing a public gathering at the Hockey Stadium, Nankana, on Wednesday, Nawaz said today’s Pakistan was certainly not better than the Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan of 2017. He claimed that all problems, crises and difficulties started when his government was toppled. A conspiracy was hatched against his government, as it was serving the people. He said his past government ended loadshedding of 18 hours a day, restored peace in Karachi and made motorways. A roti was available for four rupees and sugar for Rs50/kg in his government. He said he would get comfort when masses would get rid of high inflation.
Nawaz said he would serve Nankana if he comes to power again. He said gas would be provided to Syedwala and Nankana would be made a model city, along with opening of Punjab University campuses at Shahkot and Sangla Hill. A state-of-the-art cricket stadium would be constructed at Nankana, new housing colony at Nankana and ownerships would be awarded to residents of slum areas. A cardiology centre would be constructed at Nankana, and a boys degree college at Mandi Faizabad and expressway from Sangla Hill to Shahinwala would be completed.
PMLN Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz, addressing the gathering, said now the opponents would come to know which was the most popular party of the country, after the return of Nawaz Sharif. She said Nawaz Sharif was forced to leave the government due to foul play, but the PTI was itself responsible for its destruction.
Maryam said Nawaz Sharif was not the ‘Ladla’ of anybody else but the public. Nawaz Sharif is a pure Pakistani and ‘Made in Pakistan’.
Ali Raza adds from Lahore: PMLN Secretary Information and former federal minister Marriyum Aurangzeb criticised Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday for using foul language in his public meetings. She said in a tweet she felt sorry for Bilawal’s language.
“He stayed with us as foreign minister; we should talk on the basis of performance. No one wants to listen to your personal politics,” she said adding Bilawal recently came to Punjab and maybe he had not seen the projects of PMLN in Punjab including PKLI and Daanish schools.
Marriyum said Sindh province also had the right to have the same facilities as Punjab. She questioned what kind of projects was Bilawal bringing to Punjab, which have already been implemented in Sindh and not in Punjab?
