LDA accelerates work on Bund Road project
LAHORE:Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has prepared an action plan for timely completion of the Bund Road project and accelerated the pace of remaining work.
A meeting, presided over by the Caretaker Minister for Housing Syed Azfar Ali Nasir and Commissioner and DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, was held on Monday. LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed gave a detailed briefing about both the packages and presented an action plan for the completion of the remaining work of the two packages.
Housing Minister Syed Azfar Ali Nasir directed to speed up the ongoing works on Badha Ravi Bridge, speed up the filling process in the high-rise area of Package Two and increase the number of daily dumpers.
Chief Engineer told the meeting that shuttering work on Gulshan-e-Ravi T Junction drain was going on fast track. He said the contractors of both the packages were directed to engage additional labour and increase machinery.
Housing Minister and Commissioner and DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa appreciated the CE LDA and his team and directed the contractors of both packages to ensure the achievement of the daily targets. The minister said that according to the deadline given by the CM, all the resources were available for the completion of the project. He warned that even a moment of slackness in the construction work of the project would not be tolerated. Commissioner Lahore and DG LDA Mohammad Ali Randhawa directed the project director to send progress and monitoring report of each shift.
Illegal structures razed
On the directions of Commissioner Lahore and DG LDA, LDA teams demolished and sealed more than a dozen illegal constructions and commercial buildings in Johar Town, BOR Society, Wapda Town, Lahore Avenue and OPF housing schemes.
During the operation LDA teams took action against Plot No 25 A, 25 B in BOR society and 19E in Rahman Society. An operation was conducted against Plot No 337 Block E, 154 Block E One in Johar Town, Plot No 71 in Wapda Town and Plot No 51 in Lahore Avenue. Similarly, operation was conducted against Plot No 547, 548 OPF Scheme, Plot No 36 K, 37 C One and 341 F too. Notices were issued several times to the properties before the operation.
