Three inmates die in Camp Jail

Jail officials said that the three were suffering from various diseases and were admitted to the hospital, but they could not recover

LAHORE : Three inmates of Camp Jail died here on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Naveed Ahmed, 17, Adnan, 40, and Ghulam Rasool, 36. Jail officials said that the three were suffering from various diseases and were admitted to the hospital, but they could not recover. Their bodies were shifted to the morgue.

Man arrested for taking parents, siblings hostage

A man, who held his parents and siblings hostage at gunpoint in Wahdat Colony area, was arrested on Saturday.

The accused also offered resistance at the time of arrest and a pistol and bullets were recovered from his possession. According to police, the accused was involved in the cases of theft and illegal weapons.

Three robbers arrested

Punjab Police claimed to have arrested the three culprits who allegedly robbed millions of cash from a house in Lahore’s Defence area on Saturday.

According to private news reports, the police stated that the arrested culprits allegedly looted Rs2.6 million from a house and went into hiding in different areas of Lahore.

In a statement, the law enforcers claimed that the police party stopped the culprits near the Bambawali-Ravi-Bedian (BRB) Canal and recovered the looted amount, a bike, and a pistol.They were sent to lockup for further investigation.

Four criminals arrested

Lahore police arrested four criminals involved in drug dealing and robbery.

Baghbanpura police arrested a drug pusher and recovered 10kg charas from his possession. The accused was identified as Rashid. Haier police arrested three robbers and recovered cash they had looted from a house in Defence C. The accused were identified as Irshad, Imran and Azam.

Fateha offered for martyred cop

A smartly turned out contingent of police presented salute to the grave of martyred Sub-Inspector Khalid Mehmood Virk and offered fateha. Constable Farrukh Virk, son of martyred Sub-Inspector, was also present on this occasion. Sub-Inspector Khalid was martyred in the exchange of fire with criminals during his posting at Kahna police station.

Road accidents

The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,034 road accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these road accidents, 12 people died, whereas 1115 were injured. Out of these, 488 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 627 victims with minor injuries were treated on the spot by Rescue medical teams.
