LAHORE: In order to promote the positive image of government universities on digital media, the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has formed an 8-member committee consisting of senior public relations experts of universities.
The PHEC chairman has issued a notification according to which PHEC Director Coordination Dr Tanveer Qasim will be the head of the committee.
The committee will devise a strategy for the improvement of the public relations departments of universities. Senior Public Relations Officers (PROs) of universities have been included in the body.
Dr Akmal Soomro (Home Economics University), Dr Barira Bakhtawar (Lahore College For Women University), Dr Khuram Shahzad (Punjab University), Muhammad Usman (University of Sargodha), Shahzad Khalid (Islamia University Bahawalpur), Mossadeq Sultan (Government College University Lahore) and Naima Bhatti (Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur) are the members of the body.
Dr Tanveer Qasim said the committee will make recommendations to highlight the positive activities of the varsities while proposals will also be prepared to deal with the problems faced by PROs at the media level.
