The participation of government employees in political activities is prohibited under the rules
LAHORE: The District Education Authority (DEA) Gujranwala has directed the employees of School Education Department of the district, including teachers to avoid participation in the political activities, claiming that the same was prohibited under the rules.
The letter by the DEA Gujranwala CEO addressed to DEA Gujranwala officials for the implementation observed that it had come into his notice that some employees of the School Education Department had been found participating in the rallies/political activities of general election 2024.
“This act of government employees is not acceptable at any cost. The participation of government employees in political activities is prohibited under the rules. This illegal act must be stopped. In case any employees are found involved in such kind of political activities, the delinquent official / teacher will have to face the legal proceedings under the rules,” reads the letter which did not cite any government rule in this regard.
