LAHORE: Punjab Transport Minister Ibrahim Hasan Murad Friday said Punjab Transport Company should run urban transport system in Lahore, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur.
Presiding over a meeting, the minister said in this connection a feasibility study should also be started for urban transport system in six other big cities of the province. Secretary Transport Ahmed Javed Qazi, CEO of Punjab Transport Company and other relevant officers also attended the meeting.
The minister said international standard environment-friendly electric and eco-friendly buses will have to be run, but all measures should be ensured for the pilot project of electric buses in Lahore.
During the briefing, the minister was told that the approval has been sought from the board to run urban transport in Lahore, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur. The meeting was told that cheap rides will also be available with quality and excellent travel facilities.
