Role of varsities highlighted in peace building
LAHORE: Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) and Government College Women University Sialkot organised a seminar “Religious Tolerance and Role of Universities in Peace Building”.
According to a press release issued on Friday, PHEC Director Dr Tanveer Qasim, was the chief guest who speaking on the occasion, said that PHEC wanted to promote religious tolerance in universities. He added the universities were being mobilised to create a peaceful and tolerant environment in the society.
Government College Women University Sialkot Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Zareen Fatima said that along with education and training, character building of students was really important and appreciated PHEC’s efforts to promote tolerance in universities.
Prof. Dr. Yasir Nawaz Manj, Prof. Dr. Ilyas, Prof. Dr. M Ashfaq, Dr. Shagufta Firdous, a largenumber of teachers and students participated in the seminar.
