Three ‘human traffickers’ arrested
ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC), of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), during the crackdown on human smuggling mafia, arrested three people involved in collecting millions of rupees from 37 citizens for transporting them abroad on fake documents, a FIA spokesman said.
The gangsters collected Rs8.55 million from 37 people belonging to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Azad Kashmir and other cities for sending them to different countries including Turkey and Europe, the FIA sources said and added that the mafia people were marked when they deposited fake documents in Turkish Embassy but objected by the embassy.
The AHTC, upon receiving complaint from the embassy, initiated crackdown on the mafia at large and arrested three gangsters – Mohammad Zahid from Qasimabad, Rawalpindi, Ehsen Junaid from Attock and Amjad Hussain from Golra More, Islamabad – and shifted them to FIA investigation cell for further investigation.
