Ex-PM was king of corruption: Khattak

NOWSHERA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTIP) head Pervez Khattak on Thursday praised the Supreme Court verdict of stripping the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf of iconic symbol ‘bat’ saying that Tabdeeli Khan was now completely out of election race.

“The PTI will no longer exist after the February 8 general elections as this party has now become a history of the past,” he said while speaking at the party joining gatherings in Spinkhak and Mera Turlandhi areas in the district.

The PTIP candidate for NA-34 and PK-89, Dr Imran Khattak, PK-85 aspirant Ibrahim Khattak, PK-86 candidate Ismail Khattak and others also addressed the gatherings.The PTIP chief criticised the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl and Awami National Party for deceiving the masses with hollow slogans.

He said it was not the era of lanterns as people needed the modern day facilities. He alleged that PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan was a king of corruption and the nation would now hold him accountable in the forthcoming elections.Pervez Khattak said that Tabdeeli Khan said that he was heading the campaign of his party and it would secure a two-thirds majority in the next election.

The PTIP head said that he served the people of KP when he was the chief minister from 2013 to 2018.He said that rival political parties were afraid of his popularity and looking for excuses to flee from the general elections.

Pervez Khattak claimed that he had taken a number of practical steps for developing this region, unlike his predecessors whom he accused of paying only lip-service.The former defence minister said that he had launched a number of mega development projects such as Bus Rapid Transit, Pak-China Economic Corridor in KP, Rashakai Special Economic Zone, Azakhel Dryport.
