LAHORE:The City witnessed cold and foggy weather here on Thursday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Met officials warned that dense fog was likely to continue over the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh during next few days. They advised citizens to be cautious as day temperatures were likely to remain below normal in most parts of Punjab due to dense fog.
Met officials predicted that mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most plain areas of the country while very cold/partly cloudy in northern parts. However, light to moderate rain-wind/thunderstorm (snowfall over mountains) was likely in southwestern Balochistan and dense fog/smog was likely to persist in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh while frost was likely to occur at few places in Pothohar region and Kashmir. Thursday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Leh where mercury dropped to -12°C, while in Lahore, it was 3.8°C and maximum was 15.5°C.
