ISLAMABAD: A minor controversy between a lawyer and police personnel turned into clash between the lawyers and police when the cop prevented the lawyer to enter in the jurisdiction of ‘Bakhshi Khana’, Wednesday.
The clash between both the groups continued for over four hours, said the people who witnessed the clash. Lawyers allegedly attacked the office of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Bakhshi Khana after clash with police in District Courts of Islamabad.
The incident took place when the cop injured lawyer Zarar Shah while he was trying to meet a prisoner in Bakhshi Khana. Consequently, a large number of lawyers reached the scene and attacked the police. The police shot fire to disperse the angry lawyers which further escalated the clash.
The lawyers then entered the DSP office and damaged the office, said the police sources claimed. Extra force of police was called in at the district courts to control the situation. Later, the situation normalised after a negotiation between both the groups. No case was registered with the concerned police station, the police said.
