ISLAMABAD: A total of 128 million people are expected to participate in the upcoming general elections across the country, as revealed by the latest statistics available on the official website of Election Commission of Pakistan.
Of these voters across the country, 54 percent are male and 46 percent female. The majority of voters are expected to come from Punjab, accounting for 57 percent. Meanwhile, among the cities, Lahore leads with over six million people expected to vote in the upcoming elections. Punjab contributes over 73 million total voters.
In Sindh, 26 million people are expected to participate in the polls. In KPK and Balochistan, 21 and five million people respectively are expected to cast their votes. The data further reflects that over one million people will participate in the general elections from Islamabad, the federal capital.
In Karachi, 5 million people are expected to participate in the general elections. The expected turnout from other cities includes 1.2 million from Hyderabad, 3.1 million from Multan, 2.1 million from Gujrat, 3.3 million from Rawalpindi, 2.3 million from Bahawalpur, 1.3 million from Attock, 1.5 million from Mardan, 1.4 million from Swat and 2.1 million from Peshawar in the upcoming polls.
In Punjab, 39 million men and 34 million women will cast their votes. From Sindh, 12 million women and 14 million men are expected to participate, while from KPK, 11 million males and nine million females are expected to join the general elections of 2024. In Balochistan, there are three million male voters and two million female voters. In the federal capital, both male and female voters are five million.
