Five children among nine injured in gas cylinder blast

LAHORE: Nine members of a family, including five children, were injured when a gas cylinder exploded in the kitchen in the limits of Shahdara police on Wednesday.

On being informed, the rescuers rushed to the spot and pulled out nine survivors from the house. The injured identified as Fozia, 26, Dua, 1, Zainab, 7, Zahra, 6, Ghulam Rasool, 5, Hania, 1, Shaista, 30, Mushtaq, 45, and Safia, 50, were admitted to hospital.

Man suffocated to death

A 29-year-old man died and another fainted due to smoke inhalation in the generator room in Harbanspura Sahafi Colony Canal Road on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Ali Jan. The survivor identified as Jahangir Rafique, 30, was treated on the spot.

Thieves gang busted

Organised Crime Unit Defence busted a six-member gang of thieves. The accused were identified as Tanveer, Zaman Ali, Ghulam Nabi, Sajid, Shafiq and Tanveer Ahmad. Police recovered vehicles, including bikes and rickshaws from their possession. Hudyara police arrested a five-member gang of cattle and motorcycle thieves. Bilal, Qurban, Shan and Ehtsham were among the arrested accused.
