ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed an appeal filed against a high court order on a dispute between a mother-in-law and her ex-daughter-in law pertaining to 10 tola gold.
A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, dismissed the appeal of Sabiha Khanam filed against the high court verdict pertaining to granting 10 tola of gold to her ex-daughter-in law Sadia Naureen. During the hearing, advocate Zulfiqar Naqvi told the court that the dispute between both the females relates to 10 tola gold. The CJP asked the lawyer if Naureen was divorced. The counsel replied in the affirmative, adding that Naureen had three kids.
When Justice Isa asked about the amount of Haq Mehr, the counsel replied that Rs2,000 was adjusted as Haq Mehr.
The CJP then observed as to why the mother-in-law was denying 10 tola gold to the mother of three kids. Later, the court dismissed the appeal of Sabiha Khanam.
