LAHORE: PMLN Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz said that former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar had shelved the Metro Train Project that was started by Nawaz Sharif to ease the problems of people.
Addressing her election campaign from PP-159 falling in Gujumta and Nishtar Colony, Lahore, she said PMLN has set records of service, but when the ‘selected’ came into power, they stopped these services to the citizens. Maryam Nawaz said the Orange Train, which was plying on Ferozepur Road, was initiated by Nawaz Sharif. She further said that intruders should be picked up and thrown out of Lahore on February 8, 2024. Addressing a corner meeting in his constituency NA-127, PMLN leader Atta Tarar said if the lawyers’ community had not supported the party during the difficult times, we would not have been standing in front of the people today. “My grandfather Rafiq Tarar played his role during Gen Musharraf’s dictatorship and faced the dictatorship,” he said.
Referring to PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is also contesting from the same constituency, Atta Tarar said the citizens will reject those who have no agenda. They ruled Karachi for 15 years but were not able to remove garbage from there. He wondered if Bilawal had solved the problems of Karachi now that he was focusing on Lahore. He also claimed that the PPP does not have any candidates in Punjab.
