In a tragic incident during the cleaning of a sewerage line in Gulistan-e-Jauhar’s Block 13, two workers lost their lives.
The spokesperson for the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) issued a statement, clarifying that there was no blockage in the KWSC’s sewage lines in the area. Instead, the main line of the sewage system in a residential apartment building, Crescent View Apartment, got blocked.
The spokesperson explained that the building management had not lodged any complaints with the corporation about the sewage issues. However, after receiving information, KWSC officials arrived.
“They dispatched their vehicles and immediately carried out a thorough cleaning of the line,” the spokesperson said. Expressing regret over the loss of two innocent lives, the spokesperson blamed the residential apartment management for not reporting the sewage problem.
