MULTAN: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the condition of hospitals was a challenge for the government, but now it has been completely changed.The caretaker chief minister inaugurated the state-of-the-art 100-bed Emergency Department at the Children’s Hospital.
Later, talking to the journalists outside Multan Children Complex, Mohsin Naqvi said that the Punjab government had included the Civil Hospital in the Children’s Hospital. Mohsin Naqvi said that when he came to Multan for the first time, the condition of the Children’s Hospital was very poor. He said that the work done in the Children’s Hospital during his time was a miracle and he would give credit to the Child Life Department.
He asked the hospital’s administration to maintain the system. He informed that the work on Qasim Bagh would begin soon. He said that the doctors have to work either at Nishtar-I or Nishtar-II. If a doctor deputes at Nishtar-I or Nishtar-II, he had to work, the caretaker chief minister said. The Nishtar-II was not inaugurated so far so how we can say that medical equipment had not arrived yet. When the inauguration would be done, equipment would also come, he maintained. Naqvi also announced imminent inauguration of Nishtar-II and DHQ Hospital South City.
Meanwhile, Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the Business Facilitation Centre. The counters of 24 provincial and federal departments had been established while 124 NOCs would be issued under one-roof in 14 days.Mohsin Naqvi visited different counters of the Business Facilitation Centre and met with the staff asked them to issue NOCs on time.
Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the performance of the project head of Punjab Information Technology Board and his team. He said that the business community of Multan would get all the services under one-roof at the centre. After Lahore, Sialkot and Gujranwala, fourth Business Facilitation Centre had been made functional in Multan, he added. He disclosed that the Business Facilitation Centres would also be made at Faisalabad and Rawalpindi soon.
Mohsin Naqvi also visited Hazrat Shah Shams Tabriz (RA) shrine and reviewed the ongoing upgradation work there. Caretaker Provincial Minister for Industries SM Tanveer, the chief secretary, the secretaries of Industries and Construction and Communications, Multan Commissioner, Multan DC, MCCI president and other officials were also present.
Earlier, Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Jalalpur Pirwala Bypass and inaugurated three major roads after renovation. He inaugurated 48km long Shujabad, Jalalpur Pirwala Road, 17km long Jalalpur to Permit Road and 15km long Basti Malook-Shujabad Road.
In a briefing, Mohsin Naqvi was informed that the construction of a 48km road from Shujabad to Jalalpur Pirwala was completed at a cost of Rs 2.500 billion while the construction and maintenance of the 17km road from Jalalpur to Permit was completed at a cost of Rs 34.10 million.
It was told in the briefing that the work on the projects had been accelerated and all three projects were completed within the deadline given by the caretaker chief minister. Later, Mohsin Naqvi inspected the roads and appreciated the quality of the projects. He said that with the completion of connecting roads of Shujabad, Basti Malook and Jalalpur Pirwala, millions of people would get benefit. The caretaker chief minister said that the construction of the connecting roads would facilitate the people especially traders and farmers.
Meanwhile, on the instructions of the caretaker chief minister, monitoring of the upgradation project of Bahawal Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur had been started. In this connection, South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Saqib Zafar inspected the project.
