ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) caretaker government on Monday filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against a Peshawar High Court (PHC) judgement granting protective bail to
KP Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, directing the police and law enforcing agencies not to arrest him until January 22, 2024. The provincial chief secretary filed an appeal in the Supreme Court under Article 185(3) of the Constitution seeking leave to appeal to be granted against the PHC order of January 12, 2024.
As per details, the KP Assembly Speaker got protective bail after the court allowed him to land in Pakistan till January 11. The PHC had directed that on arrival, the police and law enforcing agencies should not arrest Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani in an FIR registered against him in Abbottabad Cantt Police Station.
