SUKKUR: The Kashmore-Kandhkot Police on Monday recovered nine truck drivers abducted a week ago by dacoits in Kashmore.
Larkana DIG Nasir Aftab Pathan and Kashmore-Kandhkot SSP Bashir Ahmed Brohi said that the police and Rangers, in a joint operation, freed nine truck drivers when the dacoits were shifting them from the riverine areas of Ghihalpur to an undisclosed place. They further said that about a week ago, the dacoits had kidnapped away the truck drivers from the Indus Highway, adding that the operation against the criminals was underway.
They said that the dacoits should be considered as enemies of the society and urged the people to unite against the dacoits by joining hands with the police in making district Kashmore-Kandhkot free from the criminals and their patrons.
The truck drivers who were released from the captivity of dacoits included Khurram Shahzad, Sarfaraz, Shoaib, Shahid Mirani, Muhammad Irfan, Ikramullah, Allah Wassayo, Liquat Gunjo, Ghulam Qadir Hashmani and Muhammad Akram.
