NOWSHERA: The local courts dismissed two cases against the office-bearers of Nowshera Press Club on Monday.

The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Tayyab Khan dismissed the case of Tafhimur Rahman and others against the elections 2023 for office-bearers of the Nowshera Press Club headed by former president Jehanzeb Khattak.

Tafhimur Rahman and his other colleagues had requested the court to remove Jehanzeb Khattak and othe roffice-bearers elected in 2023 or issue a stay order to stop them from working.

However, the applicants could not prove their case in the court even after one year so the court dismissed the case.Earlier, the court of Civil Judge Jawad Bin Daud had dismissed the order to stay against the office-bearers of Nowshera Press Club.

The press club lawyer Naeem Khan informed the court that Tafhimur Rahman and his colleagues, who were not members of the press club, had instituted 13 cases against the body and elected cabinet.

He pleaded that two cases were also running in the Peshawar High Court, adding that some of the petitions were irrelevant due to which the precious time and money of journalists were wasted.

The court dismissed the case after hearing arguments from both the parties.Meanwhile, the court of Civil Judge Altaf Khan also vacated the stay order against the office-bearers of Nowshera Press Club and ordered Nadim Shah Tipu to produce evidence in the court on January 27.
