NOWSHERA: Hailing the decision of the Supreme Court, which upheld the ruling of the Election Commission of Pakistan depriving the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of its election symbol bat, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTIP) Chairman Pervez Khattak on Sunday held former prime minister Imran Khan responsible for the fate his party was facing.

Speaking at a press conference and later at a gathering in Wapda Colony in Taru Tabba, he said the PTI had never held its intra-party elections in a transparent manner. PTIP candidate for NA-34 and PK-89 Dr Imran Khattak, aspirant for PK-85 Ibrahim Khattak, and candidate for PK-86 Ismail Khattak, Tehsil Nazim, Ishaq Khattak and others were present.

The former defense minister said that the PTI did not have any Plan-A or Plan-B. He said that the PTI candidates would now contest the elections in independent capacity, which could deprive the party of its reserved seats in the assemblies.

He said that the independent candidates would join other political parties after winning the election in search of greener pastures. He said that the PTI had vanished into the thin air and had no future.

Pervez Khattak said that his party had fielded candidates on 70 seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that he was heading the election campaign of his party and it would secure a two-thirds majority in the next election, adding that he would again become the chief minister.

The PTIP head said that he served the people of KP when he was the chief minister from 2013 to 2018. He said that his rivals were making only pledges in a bid to deceive the people. He said that the PTIP was becoming popular day by day and several people had joined it.
