ISLAMABAD: JUIF chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman on Saturday confirmed his meeting with the top leader of the Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan Mulla Haibatullah Akhunzada.
Talking to official television of Afghanistan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said his meeting with Haibatullah remained positive saying that he was thankful for Haibatullah’s support. He said that objectives of his visit were to resolve issues with mutual consultation and harmony which had been achieved. “My meeting with Mulla Haibatullah has been positive and I strongly reject an impression that the two countries are against each other,” the JUIF chief said.
He said his very first visit to Afghanistan since the installation of Islamic Emirates Government would help reduce tensions, paving the way for an improvement in relations between the two sides. “Some tension was created between two countries after Islamic Emirates took over but it has been reduced now,” he said.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he held meetings with all the top Afghan leaders during the visit which would result in the start of new journey of two countries’ relations. He said they were well-wishers of Afghan refugees but the way they were treated, they had reservations about that.
He said that he was not a part of Pakistan government but as head of a party, he attempted to resolve Afghan refugees issues and declared them country’s guests. However, he pointed out that the problem of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was sensitive and the two countries are very serious on that.
He stressed that all the countries, particularly the Islamic states, should establish diplomatic relations with Islamic Emirate and support it. Fazlur Rehman maintained that they would never interfere in internal affairs of the Islamic Emirate.
