All people, regardless of gender identity, should have access to education as it is a fundamental right. Hence, it is quite admirable that several schools or learning centres for the transgender community have been inaugurated in various cities across Punjab, including Lahore and Islamabad. This not only helps close educational gaps but also fosters understanding and social integration.
The government is demonstrating strong support by establishing areas where the transgender community can learn in a setting that values and accepts their identity. These kinds of programmes not only help support the transgender community but also improve society as a whole by promoting diversity and lowering prejudice. Seeing our government work proactively to guarantee that all citizens, regardless of gender identity, have access to education is encouraging.
