PPP leader joins PTIP in Nowshera
Nigar Rauf Kakakhel, who was provincial finance secretary of PPP, district chapter’s president for women wing announced quitting
NOWSHERA: A Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader on Friday announced joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTIP) along with her family members and supporters.
Nigar Rauf Kakakhel, who was provincial finance secretary of the PPP and district chapter’s president for the women wing announced quitting the party and joining the PTIP at a function in the Risalpur town in the presence of the PTIP Chairman Pervez Khattak.
Speaking on the occasion, Nigar Rauf Kakakhel said she had decided to end her association with the PPP as the party had lost the mass appeal by not serving the people in the real sense.
The PTIP candidate for NA-34 and PK-89, Dr Imran Khattak, aspirant for PK-85 Ibrahim Khattak, and candidate for PK-86, Ismail Khattak, Tehsil Nazim, Ishaq Khattak, Syed Fareed Shah and others spoke on the occasion as well.
Pervez Khattak welcomed the new entrants to the party and presented them with the party scarfs. He hoped that their joining would strengthen the party.
The PTIP chief said his party had a manifesto which was geared towards welfare of the masses. He was critical of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN), PPP and even PTI of which he was a part in the near past.
Pervez Khattak said these political parties had remained in power for a long time, turn by turn, but failed to improve the lot of the poor people who had voted them into power.Without naming Imran Khan, the PTI founding chairman, he said a “failed player” resorted to the mantra of a change but could not deliver on his promises after attaining the highest office.
Pervez Khattak enumerated the development schemes launched by him when he was the chief minister of the province from 2013 to 2018 and later when he was a federal minister. He was sure people would elect his party candidates in the February 8 General Elections and provide him with an opportunity once again to serve them as the chief minister of the province.
