PHEC hosts book launching
LAHORE:Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Friday hosted a book launching ceremony of “Towards a Knowledge Economy-National Innovation and Technology System of Pakistan” at Punjab HEC.
Punjab Health Minister Dr Javed Akram, PHEC Chairperson Prof Dr Shahid Munir and others were present on the occasion. In his address, Dr Shahid Munir appreciated the authors' insightful exploration of the rise of nations such as China, Japan, and Singapore, attributing their success to the strategic harnessing of science, technology, and innovation.
Drawing inspirations from successful models like the South Korean Innovation and Technology System, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Import-driven Technology Diffusion, the authors provide valuable insights into building a robust innovation system. The Chairperson emphasised the book's significance in advocating for collaboration between the higher education system, government, and the private sector to foster innovation.
