Three more get bail in house robbery case
A sessions court on Thursday granted post-arrest bail to three more suspects in a case pertaining to the theft of Rs20 million and other valuables during a police raid on the house of a trader in Orangi Town.
Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Umair Tariq Bajari and over a dozen other policemen and civilians were booked in November lastyear on charges of robbery, abduction, house trespass and wrongful confinement.
They allegedly robbed trader Shakir Khan’s house in Orangi Town and briefly kidnapped him and his brother Amir Khan before releasing them near the Baloch Colony flyover. After hearing arguments, the additional district and session judge-II (West) granted post-arrest bail to Izhar, Sattar and Mehfooz against a surety of Rs100,000 each. DSP Bajari was granted bail in the case recently.
