CHITRAL: Several activists of other political parties announced joining the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) during the visit of party candidate for NA-1 Shahzada Iftikharuddin in Torkhow and Morkhow tehsils of Upper Chitral.
The PMLN candidate launched his election campaign from Torkhow and several families and activists of other political parties joined the party.
“It was an overwhelming response in every village of Torkhow. The people are eager to vote for the PMLN,” Shazada Iftikhar said, adding, even the diehard supporters of other political parties announced to support him.
He said he met many old friends of his father, late Shahzda Mohiuddin. “They still appreciate his services to the area and I will try my best to come up to their expectations,” he added. In Morkhow, the former MNA said the people accorded him a warm welcome in Gohkir and Lone villages. “These areas have been neglected in the past and the people believe only the PMLN can launch uplift projects in the far-off areas,” he added.
He said he and PK-2 candidate Muhammad Wazir had embarked on a rigorous campaign despite a severe cold. “We will try to visit all villages and the response of the people is very encouraging for us,” he added.
