JI, Rah-e-Haq Party agree on seat adjustment
PESHAWAR: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) district Peshawar chapter Thursday announced seat adjustment with the Rah-e-Haq Party at the provincial capital level.
The announcement was made at a joint press conference here. District president of Jamaat-e-Islami, Bahrullah Khan Advocate, general secretary Rah-e-Haq Party and former member provincial assembly Ibrahim Qasimi, JI candidate on NA-31 Imdad Khalil and NA-32 Tariq Mateen and others were present on the occasion. According to the decision, the Rah-e-Haq Party would support JI in the district and withdraw its candidate on NA-31. In return, the JI candidate would withdraw from PK-81 in support of Ibrahim Qasimi.
Speaking on the occasion, Bahrullah Khan said that JI was the only party which had the capability of steering the country out of the prevailing crisis and put it on the track of development. He urged the election commission to end the uncertainty about elections. The maintenance of peace is the duty of the government and the state institutions, he added.The JI leader said that the institutions should fulfill their constitutional responsibilities and ensure transparent elections in the county in a peaceful environment.
