Dense fog affects flight schedule

As many as 8 were diverted, aviation sources claimed. PIA flight PK-842 from Jeddah to Multan landed at Lahore

LAHORE: Three flights of the Pakistan International Airlines from Multan and Sialkot airports were diverted to Lahore and Islamabad airports amid dense fog in Punjab Wednesday.

As many as eight flights of Islamabad, Gilgit, Karachi, Lahore, and Dubai were also diverted, aviation sources claimed. PIA flight PK-842 from Jeddah to Multan landed at Lahore.

PIA flight PK-716 from Madina to Multan also landed in Lahore while PIA flight PK-258 from Sharjah to Sialkot landed in Islamabad. Earlier, dense fog affected flight operations across the country as 24 flights were cancelled while over 50 domestic and foreign flights were delayed at Islamabad, Sialkot, and Peshawar airports.

As per the aviation reports, during three days, 88 local and international flights have been canceled across the country. Two flights to Islamabad, Sialkot, and Peshawar were diverted to alternative airports.

PIA flight PK-212 from Dubai to Islamabad took off from Karachi, flight PF-719 of Air Sial from Jeddah to Islamabad landed in Lahore while Ai Sial PF-737 from Muscat to Sialkot was taken off from Lahore. PIA flight PK-258 from Sharjah to Peshawar landed in Karachi while at Islamabad airport Abu-Dhabi PK-261, Dubai Islamabad PK 234 cancelled.
