CHITRAL: Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood, who is the JUIF candidate for NA-1, on Tuesday vowed to usher in a new era of development in Chitral if voted to the assembly.
“I will not only raise the issues of Chitral at proper forums but also launch mega projects to mitigate the sufferings of the people of this remote region,” he told the first gathering in the Chitral town in connection with his election campaign.
He said he had no lust for power but he had decided to contest election from Chitral to put the area on the road to development.Talha Mahmood thanked the people for giving him a warm welcome after entering Chitral.
The JUIF leader lashed out at the rulers for doing nothing for the development of Chitral. “The poor condition of roads in both upper and lower Chitral shows the past rulers have no sympathy with the people of this area,” he added.
Talha Mahmood said he had been supporting the poor segment of the society in the region as a philanthropist.“And I will utlise all the allocated uplift funds on development of Chitral if voted to power,” he added.The JUIF leader also urged the people to elect honest people if they wanted to put the two districts on the road to development.
