CM removes CBD CEO over slow work

LAHORE:Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has removed the CEO CBD Imran Amin over slow pace of work on Walton Road project.

Imran Amin was holding the post of CEO CBD on Acting Charge whereas he was the CEO of RUDA. After removing the CEO CBD, the CM has directed the Secretary Housing to look after the affairs of CBD.

The chief minister visited CBD Punjab Boulevard, scrutinising the ongoing construction at Main Boulevard and the Walton Road Railway Crossing Flyover Project. Expressing concern over project delays and unresolved issues, the chief minister voiced displeasure about the 22-day setback and emphasised the need for timely completion. Expressing dissatisfaction with the progress, Naqvi questioned the delay and urged immediate resolution of any outstanding issues. He emphasised the preciousness of each day and underscored the urgency of adhering to the project timeline. Naqvi specifically noted the absence of work on the bridge connecting Lahore Bridge. Reprimanding the authorities, the chief minister directed them to expedite the project for the citizens’ convenience. He reviewed the project’s status and instructed the use of all necessary resources to ensure its early completion. Naqvi highlighted the significance of CBD Punjab Boulevard, Kalma Chowk to Walton Road, for providing easy access to CBD Punjab, Quaid District, and CBD Punjab Baab District.

Inspects Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop 3 Project

Mohsin Naqvi visited the Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop 3 Project. Inspecting the 8km-long project on Maraka Multan Road, Naqvi provided necessary directives for the project’s prompt completion.

Expressing optimism, he highlighted that the Ring Road Southern Loop 3’s completion would enhance transportation facilities for the general public, with the anticipated completion date set for January 31. During the visit, the chief minister emphasised the adherence to high standards in executing the project. Addressing concerns, he instructed the Commissioner Lahore to expedite matters with Lesco. FWO officials briefed Naqvi on the project’s progress. Speaking to the media after the inspection, the chief minister acknowledged weather-related challenges affecting the project’s timeline. He cited dehumidification as a time-consuming process, causing work delays. Despite these hurdles, he assured continuous efforts for timely completion of projects, emphasising round-the-clock monitoring by provincial ministers and designated teams. Naqvi expressed confidence in the future government’s ability to surpass current accomplishments. Touching on challenges in the CBD project, he mentioned an ongoing meeting to address concerns. Naqvi concluded by stressing the government’s commitment to maintaining quality work, irrespective of criticism. He emphasised the Election Commission’s role in making security decisions. Regarding security, both the chief minister and the governor provide feedback to the Election Commission, particularly in light of recent security issues in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Highlighting the proactive approach against inflation, Naqvi shared ongoing daily actions against those responsible for inflation. Dismissing considerations of exam postponements, he noted the completion of Children’s Hospital Multan and anticipated the conclusion of various other projects by January 31.Naqvi underlined the importance of adhering to laws and anticipated stricter regulations in the next government.

Orders completing Manawan cancer hospital this month

The chief minister ordered completing Mayo Cancer Hospital in Manawan this month.He was chairing a meeting at his office where a thorough review of matters related to Mayo Cancer Hospital Manawan took place. The deliberation also encompassed discussions on the proposed relocation of the cancer ward from Mayo Hospital to Manawan Cancer Hospital.

Chairman P&D, additional chief secretary, secretary finance, secretary C&W, secretary health, KEMU VC and others attended the meeting.

The CM mentioned that chemotherapy and surgery would be performed at the cancer hospital, and its administrative and financial matters would be governed by King Edward Medical University.

Condoles loss of lives in Bajaur blast

The chief minister condemned the blast near a police vehicle in Bajaur and expressed deep grief over the loss of lives of five policemen. He prayed for early recovery of the injured and extended heartfelt sympathies to the families of the police martyrs.
