Imran, Bushra skip indictment in Toshakhana case

Latif Khosa said that the bail applications of the PTI founder and his wife should be heard first

ISLAMABAD: An Accountability Court postponed the indictment of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife in the Toshakhana reference as copies of the case could not be distributed to them, while hearing on their bail applications was also postponed.

NAB Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, prosecutors Irfan Ahmed Bhola, Sohail Arif and the investigation team appeared in the court while lawyers Latif Khosa, Shoaib Shaheen and others appeared on behalf of the PTI leader. During the hearing, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Barrister Umair Niazi also reached the courtroom. The investigating officer of the 190 million pound reference recorded the statement regarding non-compliance of the warrant for the six accused in absentia. 

NAB Deputy Prosecutor General NAB Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi said that seven days had been completed for the supply of copies in the Toshahkhana reference and charges should be framed. Latif Khosa said that the bail applications of the PTI founder and his wife should be heard first. The criminal proceedings were also postponed until January 8, while the hearing on the bail applications was also postponed until the date. Imran’s request for telephonic conversation with sons was also approved.
