An employee at an arms shop in Defence Housing Authority lost his life on Saturday when a weapon accidentally discharged during routine inspection.
The incident unfolded at Ahmed Traders, an arms shop located at Phase V, Khadda Market under the jurisdiction of the Darakshan police station. Rescuers reached the scene, and the victim, identified as 55-year-old Zahid Khan, son of Ismail, was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
According to initial investigations, the incident occurred during routine weapon checking at the shop. Police, quoting their preliminary findings, revealed that while inspecting a weapon, Zahid Khan lost control, causing the firearm to fall. The weapon discharged, and a bullet mistakenly struck his chest, resulting in his death. The deceased was an employee at the arms shop. Currently, no case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
