Police officer involved in drug peddling arrested

A suspended police officer was apprehended on Saturday for allegedly aiding drug peddlers.

According to police, the arrested officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Manzoor Ahmed alias Jilani, played a role in facilitating criminals and drug trafficking in the Shah Faisal area. The arrest took place during a raid conducted by Shah Faisal police at the East SSP Headquarters where the accused was posted before being suspended.

Authorities also claimed to have seized one kilogram of drugs from his possession. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.

Many police officials have recently been found involved in various criminal activities, which erodes public trust in the police force. The police high-ups should ensure that the police are purged of black sheep.
