ISLAMABAD: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry said that the United Nations should play its role to help resolve the Kashmir issue in line with the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
In his special message on the occasion of Self-Determination Day on Friday, the president, while referring to the unprecedented sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiris, said that it was unfortunate that the Kashmir issue has been hanging around despite the passage of 76 years.
Terming the state of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir (IIOJ&K) as an indivisible entity, Barrister Chaudhry said that the Kashmiri people would never compromise on their freedom. Calling the right of self-determination an inalienable right of the people of Kashmir, he said, “India cannot hold Kashmiris hostage for a long by the dint of force.”
Denouncing Indian state terrorism, he said, “India has unleashed a reign of terror in the region.”
He urged the international community and human rights organizations to take cognizance of the human rights violations being committed by the Indian occupation forces in the IIOJ&K.
