Five major cities to have business facilitation centres

Different departments of the Punjab on Friday signed an agreement to run the affairs of the maiden business facilitation centre

LAHORE:A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce SM Tanveer in the committee room of Punjab Small Industries Corporation. During the meeting, performance of the Business Facilitation Centre was reviewed. Secretary Industries and Commerce Ehsan Bhutta gave a briefing on the progress of the Business Facilitation Centres to be built in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan and Rawalpindi.

The Business Facilitation Centres have changed the investment culture in Punjab. Now NOCs are being issued in 10 to 15 days for setting up a new factory. So far 161 NOCs have been issued from the Business Facilitation Centre while 86 more NOCs have been in process. Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce SM Tanveer while addressing the meeting said that after Lahore, business facilitation centres are being established in other five major cities of Punjab.

Meanwhile, different departments of the Punjab on Friday signed an agreement to run the affairs of the maiden business facilitation centre established in the province to facilitate the economic activities. The agreement was signed by the representatives of the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC), Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT), Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), PEDMIC and FIDMIC. According to the agreement, the government institutions will jointly take forward the affairs of business facilitation centres.
