ISLAMABAD:Will it be possible for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to produce original record other than photocopies in the corruption references against former President Asif Ali Zardari? An Islamabad High Court (IHC) bench here on Thursday directed NAB authorities to produce original record in Ursus Tractors and ARY import of gold corruption references.
Instituted in 1998, these cases remained pending on the basis of photocopy record and no original document was produced before the court by the NAB prosecution and then on December 12, 2014, an accountability court had accepted Zardari’s application under 265-K in the said corruption references.
Later, NAB filed appeals against the acquittal of Zardari. NAB has been requesting the high court to declare the decision of the trial court null and void, submitting that it had given the decision in haste without assessing the gravity of the offence of the accused.
The IHC bench, comprising Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah, while issuing the said decision put of the hearing with date to be fixed by the Rregistrar Office. morning and to enjoy company of his family and friends on weekends.
Islamabad residents have already suffered a lot during the last two years from the effects of such political gatherings and protests when the green belts were given irreparable loss and still they need to be get restored.
Superior courts in a number of judgments observed that parks, playgrounds and other public places could only be utilised for the purposes for which they originally meant.
Further these places have a prior right for all citizens across the country to breathe fresh air and to enjoy with family and friends unlike these may be utilised for the public procession and public gatherings, petitioner said.
