CDA seals plastic factory

Islamabad : The Capital Development Authority ((CDA) has sealed a plastic factory in Shams Colony of Sector I-13 for causing air pollution in the area.

Senior Special Magistrate CDA sealed the factory, fined owner of factory and imprisoned him on the spot. The CDA team conducted raid on the plastic factory on receiving report that it was causing air pollution which is health hazardous for residents of the area

“On the directions of Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA Chairman Capt. (r) Anwarul Haq, effective measures have been taken to protect Islamabad from environmental pollution and smog,” the spokesman of CDA said.

In this regard, he said the Enforcement Wing conducted an operation against the owners of the plastic factory in Islamabad’s Sector I-13, Shams Colony which was causing environmental pollution in the area. The owners were summoned and presented in the court of Senior Special Magistrate of CDA.

The Senior Special Magistrate ordered the factories of the accused to be sealed immediately and sentenced the accused to imprisonment and fine and remanded in custody.

According to the details, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman CDA had issued strict instructions to the Enforcement, Environment and Sanitation Wing a few days ago to take immediate action against those responsible for keeping the natural beauty of Islamabad free from environmental pollution and smog. Moreover, the two suspects who planted sand and gravel piles in the green areas were also ordered to be taken into custody by the police and sentenced to imprisonment and fine.
