ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has implemented 5,366 complaints out of 5,704 filed before the Federal Tax Ombudsman during 2023, indicating 94.07 percent of orders complied.
Addressing a press conference at the FTO office Tuesday, senior board officials said the FTO has decided 8,128 complaints filed by the taxpayers out 8,076 against the FBR during 2023. During this period, FTO has conducted 188 own motion investigations against the FBR. The FTO has repeatedly taken up the matter of unnecessary litigation by the FBR. There are many cases where FBR filed representations with the President only to gain time in litigation, they said.
