Documentary released on police projects in 2023

LAHORE : Punjab Police, under the leadership of IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, has completed several projects in the year 2023 and in this regard, a 16-minute documentary film has been released on social media on Monday.

According to the details, 20 thousand officers and officials were promoted across the province as per merit and seniority. Punjab Police signed MoUs with eight educational networks for the education of children of police employees while Rs85 crore were given in the form of educational scholarships.

Moreover, all 737 police stations of the province were transferred to Special Initiative Protocol and the construction of 40 smart police stations in different districts of the province was approved. The approval of suitable plots and places was also obtained from the Punjab government for the construction of new police stations.

Around 115 free driving schools were established in different districts of the province to provide driving training to the citizens. 39 Tahaffuz Centres for community policing initiatives, 37 Meesaq Centres for providing services and protection to minority citizens, while 103 new licence centres have been established in all districts of the province for easy issuance of driving licences.

Punjab Police reunited 450 missing children and persons with their families through ‘Mera Pyara App’. About the ongoing measures for the welfare of the force, it is mentioned in the video that MoUs have been signed with 17 hospitals where the police force and their families are getting treatment facilities.

Rs0.2 billion were spent as financial assistance on 1,315 medical cases. 100% health screening of police force completed, 190,312 personnel got hepatitis B vaccine, 1,463 personnel were treated for hepatitis B while 6,054 were treated for hepatitis C.

Plots were given to the families of 526 martyrs for the construction of their own houses, wedding gifts were given to 4,834 daughters of police employees. Nine crore rupees were spent on the treatment of 313 personnel injured during duty, while 36 crore rupees were given to the widows of employees who died during service and the wives of police martyrs.

Meanwhile, Punjab Police’s Animal Rescue Centre established in the provincial capital has achieved a special honour this year. According to the details, "Police Animal Rescue Centre (PARC)" has been included in the list of the best initiatives of the year 2023 by the leading media agency. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that now the scope of Police Animal Rescue Centres is being extended across the province. He said that Animal Rescue Centres have been activated in three big cities - Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi by Punjab Police.

Trainee ASsP visit CPO

The trainee ASsP included in the 50th Specialized Training Programme visited the Central Police Office on Monday.

Talking to them, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that more than 250 crores are being spent on the welfare of the force promotion structure for the next 21 years have been formulated. 20 more cities of the province have been included in Safe City project, Priority is being given to young officers in leadership development.
