Treatment quality in hospitals being monitored: minister
LAHORE : Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Prof Dr Javed Akram has said that the government is monitoring the quality of treatment of patients in public hospitals.
In a statement here on Monday, the minister said that testing machines in all government hospitals are 100% functional. Tests of patients are being done through biomedical machines and the patients coming to any government hospital will not face any difficulties, he added.
Meanwhile, The secretariat of Punjab Welfare Trust for the Disabled will be transferred to solar energy, this was informed by caretaker Provincial Minister for Health, Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Prof Dr Javed Akram while chairing the 32nd meeting of Punjab Welfare Trust for the Disabled (PWTD) Board of Governors on Monday.
The Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Baitul-Maal Zahoor Hussain, Additional Secretary Aamir Shafiq, Prof Dr Mahmood Shaukat, Deputy Secretary Finance Saima Sadiq, Zafar Abbas Lak, Director Programmes Dr Izhar and other members participated in the meeting. Director Programmes Dr Izhar briefed the provincial health minister about the working of PWTD.
The provincial health minister Dr Javed Akram said that all the initiatives of PWTD have been reviewed in detail and PWTD is working exclusively for the rehabilitation of differently-abled persons. The PWTD is currently providing services in 22 districts of Punjab, the minister said. The minister added the Punjab government wanted to utilise all resources for the rehabilitation of differently-abled persons. He said that the scope of PWTD would be extended to the entire province.
