LAHORE
Pakistan Muslim League (PML) leader Ch Pervaiz Elahi and Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Ali Zafar have said that Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has taken a big step against corruption which is commendable.
They were addressing a lawyers' convention under the auspices of the PML at Muslim League House here today. Pervaiz Elahi said that by starting accountability from his own institution, General Raheel Sharif had proved he favoured a corruption-free Pakistan and accountability of all. "People involved in Panama Leaks and their facilitators will also be caught soon and we strongly support the recommendations of the SCBA for a probe," he added.
The convention was attended by Lahore Bar Association President Arshad Jhojha, Lahore High Court Bar Association Secretary Ans Ghazi, bar associations elected office-bearers besides Dr Khalid Ranjha, Rafay Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Alamgir, Jahangir A. Jhojha, Tabinda Islam, Justice (R) Nazir Ahmad Ghazi, Rai Bashir, Nadir Duggal, Ch Abdul Razzaq, Aslam Zar, Mian Munir, Dr Azeemuddin Zahid Lakhvi, Sardar Hassan Akhtar Mokal and also lawyer leaders in a large number.
The convention adopted resolutions for early construction of the Kalabagh Dam and continuation of operation against terrorism under the leadership of the Amy Chief. Rana Abdul Waheed announced joining of the PML along with his comrade lawyers.
