AQI remains high on last day of 2023
LAHORE : The Air Quality Index (AQI) remained high in the provincial metropolis on the last day of the year 2023.
As per data released by the EPD, the AQI was 305 at EPA Headquarters, National Hockey Stadium and 269 at Punjab University, Lahore College of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
On the other hand, the social media was buzzed with the pictures and videos of the last sunset of the year 2023. A large number of citizens clicked their pictures of the last sunset with emotional messages and with new pledges for the year 2024.
Meanwhile, Met office said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. They predicted that mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while very cold in northern parts and north Balochistan. They further said dense fog/smog was likely to persist in plain areas of Punjab and fog/smog was likely in upper Sindh and plain areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Sunday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Leh where mercury dropped to -08°C while in Lahore it was 6.4°C and maximum was 15°C.
