LUCKNOW: A Dalit girl who tried to prevent sexual assault was thrown into a large pot filled with boiling oil. The assault took place on an 18-year-old woman working in a mill in Bagpam, Uttar Pradesh. Three people, including the mill owner, were arrested by the police in the incident. The girl, who suffered severe burns, is undergoing treatment.
The mill owner Pramod and two other helpers tried to molest the girl who was working in the mill. When the girl tried to stop the sexual assault, the accused started abusing her.
The accused then threw the girl into a big pot filled with boiling oil. Other workers rushed the girl, who was burnt on more than half of her body, to the hospital. She was then shifted to a hospital in New Delhi for specialist treatment.
The girl’s brother lodged a complaint with the police about the incident. The girl told the police that the mill owner and the assistants abused her by caste names and tried to assault her.
Circle Officer Vijay Chaudhary told the media that a case has been registered and a detailed investigation has been started.
