KARACHI: The United Business Group (UBG) clinched the President and Senior Vice President seats in the election of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) 2024 on Saturday.
Atif Ikram Sheikh, candidate for UBG for President, defeated Muhammad Ali Sheikh of Businessmen Panel (BMP). Arif Sheikh secured 240 votes against Ali, who got 147 votes, according to the provisional results.
Saqib Fayyaz of UBG, securing 231 votes, defeated Haji Ghanni Usman of BMP who received 156 votes. Out of the five seats of vice presidents for chamber class, UBG grabbed three seats after its candidates Abdul Momin Khan (Sindh), Ashfaq Ahmed (Federal Area) and Zain Iftikhar (Punjab) got elected.
Whereas BMP candidates managed to secure two seats when Aun Ali Syed (KP) and Nasir Khan (Balochistan) were elected. UBG candidates grabbed all the four vice president seats of the association class.
