17 top PSP officers will retire during 2024

Islamabad : A glowing and prestigious officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), Director General (DG), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Mohsin Hassan Butt, Grade-Grade-22 will conclude his police career on 1st January, 2024 with rich credential of professional policing.

Mr. Mohsin Butt served on significant positions during his career including Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baluchistan and earned remarkable cachet, reputation, revere and significance and accomplished commendable achievements during his 24 years proficient service.

Having assumed the Charge of DG FIA in August 2022, DG FIA Mohsin Hassan Butt’s tenure at FIA was marked by various initiatives. Notable among these are the successful recruitment drive for executive and ministerial staff, the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Case Management System (CMS), the comprehensive up-gradation of the IBMS System, approval of different Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various health and educational organizations for the welfare of FIA officials. His tenure witnessed commendable performances across various wings of the FIA, reflecting a commitment to excellence and innovation.

After the retirement of Mohsin Hassan Butt, 17 top cops of the PSP officers would be retired and leave the police department during the year 2024 after honourably completion of the services with the department. Which is huge number as well as alarming situation for the police department to think as to how such a big gap could be filled?

The profiles of those PSP officers who would accomplish their service during the approaching year, indicate that they have proven themselves as precious asserts for the country but most of them never compromised on the norms of honesty, merit and professionalism.

Five top police officers are being retired only in the month of January, 2024. Mr. Mohsin Hassan Butt will be the first PSP officer who would be getting retired on the first day of the year 2024. The others completing their services are included some shining luminaries as Mr. Ali Zul Noorain Shaikh would be leaving on 9th of January, 2024, then Mr. Sultan Ali Khawaja will complete his service on 14th January, 2024, similarly, Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan will be getting retire on 16th January and Mr. Masood-ul-Hassan will be relieved on 26th January, 2024.

During the month of February, 2024, three magnificent officers of the Police Service of Pakistan including Dr. Moeen Masood, who served the police department with commitment.

Dr. Moeen Masood will complete his service on 15th February, 2024, while, two other officers – Abdul Qadir Qayyum will be retired on 9th and Dr. Mohammad Azim Khan will be relieved on 13th February, 2024.

No officer will be retired in the month of March, 2024. However, only one Mr. Fayyaz Ahmed Dev would be relieved on 27th April. And the month of May, 2024 is vacant for retirement of any PSP officer, while, one top cop, Ali Aamir Malik will get retire on 17th June, 2024.

An iconic police officer of grade-21, Dr. Ehsan Sadiq, presently working as Director General (DG), National Police Bureau (NPB) and formerly served as Additional Director General with the Federal Investigation Agency, will be relieved on 15th July, 2024.

Dr. Ehsan Sadiq served the police department for over 33 years and put his experience for the enhancement of police capability with his commitment and professional approach.

Three officers would leave the police department during the month of October. The top cop Mr. Ghulam Rasul Zahid, will complete his service on 1st October and Mr. Sanaullah Abbasi will get retire on 20th of October, while, Mr. Mohammad Imtiaz Shah will be relieved on 25th October, 2024.

The police record found silent regarding any retirement in the month of November but three officers would leave the police during December, 2024, including Mohammad Khalid Khattak who will get retire on 15th December.

Mr. Sabir Ahmad who served the police department for about 28 years with dedication and honesty, will be relieved on 25th December, 2024.

And the last iconic personality, Grade-22 officer of the PSP Cadre, Mr. Faisal Shahkar will be relieve on the last days of the year 2024, having enough time to service the country on top of his department. Mr. Faisal Shahkar, who earned worldwide respect and excellence for Pakistan, is presently serving with United Nation Peacekeeping Mission and Team Leader at the Standing Police Capacity, Police Div. (UNLB) in Brindisi, Italy but the Pakistan avoided getting benefit his capability and professionalism as he never compromised with the merit and candour.
