Khurram Dastgir’s nomination papers approved
GUJRANWALA: The returning officer has approved the nomination papers of PMLN leader Khurram Dastgir Khan for NA-78 after scrutiny.
Talking to media on the occasion, Khurram said: “We are moving towards the February 8 elections. Gujranwala will start a new journey of development with the love of the voters of NA-78.”
He said political parties were united in the matter of elections. The Constitution gives responsibility to the Election Commission of Pakistan to ensure transparent elections. All other institutions depend on the ECP’s support and courts should cooperate with the Election Commission of Pakistan. If litigation and different decisions continue to come, it will affect the election process.
“After February 8, our effort will be to end the politics of hatred,” he said, adding that the attitude of police regarding the arrest of Shah Mehmood Qureshi was deplorable. “We will try to ensure respect for the law and the rights of citizens.”
