DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) information secretary Faisal Karim Kundi, along with Imran Mukhlis Wazir, a candidate for Lower South Waziristan’s PK-110, stated on Friday that a protest sit-in regarding their demands was underway in two tehsils, ie Birmal and Toi Khullah.
At a press conference, they expressed their support for the legitimate demands of the protest and urged higher authorities to address these concerns promptly. They stressed the need for authorities to take notice of the demands of the sit-in.
Faisal Kundi said that all essential facilities, including education, health, communication, and various human and civil rights, should be provided to the people.
Referring to the Constitution of Pakistan, which guarantees protection for every citizen, they said that basic amenities must be extended to the residents.
Kundi said that thousands of people benefited from the Benazir Income Support Programme. “Initially, Rs7000 sum was disbursed in the first installment, and now the amount has been increased to Rs8500,” he said.
He said the programme provides Rs1500 for children and Rs2000, thus facilitating easy access to education for both sections.
