Superstar Indian actress of yesteryear Mumtaz has returned after her 20-day visit to Pakistan. Talking to the media before her departure, she said she had received a lot of love from Pakistan and nowhere else in the world, she was showered such love.
Many songs filmed on the superstar Indian actress such as ‘Yeh Reshmi Zulfein’, ‘Bindiya Chamkegi’, ‘Tune Kajal Lagaya Din Mein Raat Ho Gayi’ and ‘Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche’, are still popular even after six decades.
When she recently reached Karachi for the first time from London, she received a warm welcome from the Pakistani artiste community.
She started her 20-day visit to Pakistan by appearing on the Geo News' popular programme Geo Pakistan. During her stay in the port city, she visited the Clifton and Tariq Road markets with famous designer Rizwan Baig where she did a lot of shopping.
She also met Pakistani star actress Mahira Khan at the latter’s house. On this occasion, she also met film director Asim Raza and other personalities from the show business industry.
Mumtaz said she wanted to meet Mahira when she saw her film ‘Raees’ in which the Pakistani actress starred with Shahrukh Khan. She said she had immensely liked Mahira’s acting in the film.
After staying in Karachi for a few days, Mumtaz then travelled to Lahore where she was greeted by many artists. Famous singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan visited her to his farmhouse where he and his family organised a music concert in her honour. During the event, Mumtaz listened to evergreen songs from her favourite singer and sang a few songs herself.
The Indian actress also met actor Fawad Khan, ghazal singer Ghulam Ali, singer Shafqat Amanat Ali, actress Resham and actor Ahsan Khan during her visit.
